In a nutshell:
Intimate and romantic boutique hotel on the gorgeous Maroma beach (voted one of the top ten beaches in the world). Kin Sol Soleil features just ten One and Two bedroom suites.  Some suites have private plunge pools or swimming pools, others have glorious roof top terraces with breathtaking views and private sunning areas.  Gourmet restaurant and concierge service.

Kin Sol Soleil (formerly Villa Angela) is a hidden gem with the most perfect location for beach lovers. With only ten suites, all beachfront and exquisitely furnished, it will appeal to couples or families looking for an exclusive and private setting for a relaxing vacation. Beautiful Maroma beach, voted one of the top 10 in the world, is right on your doorstep, stretching for miles in either direction.

Eight of the suites are spacious one bedroom units that are heavenly for honeymooners, featuring big tiled tubs, outdoor showers, roof terraces or plunge pools. The remaining two units are glorious two bedroom suites, one with a swimming pool and one with a breathtaking rooftop terrace and plunge pool.

Guests at Kin Sol Soleil enjoy the services of a concierge who lives on site, so that the experience is something between renting a private villa and staying in an exclusive boutique hotel. You’ll most likely meet up with fellow guests at the convivial little beachfront bar, or at the property’s chic little restaurant, El Pavo Real by the Sea. The restaurant is extraordinarily good, serving gourmet international fare and Mexican dishes in a delightful setting. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be enjoyed at the restaurant.

The undisputed focus at Kin Sol Soleil is the stunning beach. There are sun loungers and beach chairs on the sands, and water sports can be arranged further down the bay. This is truly one of the finest stretches of Caribbean beach in the country. Conditions are usually ideal for swimming, and the magnificent reef is located just off shore, best seen on a snorkel tour by boat.

Kin Sol Soleil is around 30 minutes from Cancun airport, so getting there is easy. There’s an abundance of sightseeing to hand nearby (it’s best to rent a car if you plan to spend a lot of time exploring). We recommend that you don’t over plan your daily activities though, as the lure of the beautiful beach and opulent accommodations will often prevail. This is one location where photographs cannot really do justice to the spectacular setting.

Rooms

Which room to choose at Kin Sol Soleil? It’s a deliciously difficult decision! For a family or three or four people traveling together, we recommend either Xuxu or Mariposa. Both have two bedrooms, each with a king bed, and it may be possible to have an extra bed for a child in the sitting room in Mariposa. Xuxu is on the ground floor and has a fabulous swimming pool facing the beach, so it’s a good choice for those with children. Two couples traveling together would probably prefer the upper level Mariposa, with its extravagant roof top terrace and plunge pool. The views are incredible and it’s nice and private too.

For couples, and especially honeymooners, the Angela suites are idyllic. Each is a spacious and exquisitely furnished unit (Angela 2 is shown above) that’s almost as seductive as the glorious beach outside. It would be incredibly difficult to find the same features in a regular hotel room. For instance, Angela 1 has its own swimming pool as well as a private walled garden with a moon shower. Picturesque Angela 2 has a rooftop terrace and plunge pool with views to die for. Angela 3 has a cute circular tub with views of the beach through the palm trees, whilst Angela 4 is only a few steps from the sands.

The four Karolina Suites are arranged around a central swimming pool and the intimate Pavo Real restaurant. For a larger family group, we suggest renting these four suites together. However, each suite is independent and has plenty of privacy and easy beach access.

Whatever your choice, it’s the little touches that will be forever etched in your memories; the curves of the handmade furniture, the vibrantly colored artwork on the walls, the individuality of the architecture that tells you this is no ordinary hotel.

This decadent suite offers as much space and more features than some private villas. It would be a fantastic choice for four friends or a small family.

It would be difficult to imagine a better place to enjoy the Mexican sunshine than this rooftop terrace. The views along the length of Maroma Bay are breathtaking. Sun worshippers will love the comfortable beds that catch the sea breezes as well as the sun’s rays, whilst a palapa shelter provides shade from the midday heat.

Mariposa has a large sitting room that takes central position in the suite, with picture windows overlooking the bay. There’s also a dining area (breakfast can be served in your suite), and kitchenette fronted by a bar. The kitchenette includes a refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker and a good selection of utensils. It would be convenient to prepare a light lunch here, and ideal for mixing a few cocktails at sunset (margaritas on the roof terrace, perhaps?)

The two bedrooms are almost identical in size and features and are located one to each side of the living room and entrance hall. Each one has a romantically draped king bed facing full length doors that open out onto a terrace (with ocean views, of course). The bathrooms feature an oval shaped tiled tub with a shower above. There’s also a separate half bathroom with a shower that’s accessed from the entrance hall.

Every room is individually furnished with many beautiful small touches.

Xuxu is the ground floor just below suite Mariposa and has exactly the same layout and internal floorspace. Xuxu also has a beautiful beachfront swimming pool that’s just in front of the living room. Each bedroom has a terrace with steps that lead out into the garden and to the pool.

The swimming pool is for the exclusive use of guests in Xuxu suite and it’s a big attraction for families with children. The pool is approximately twelve feet in diameter, so it’s a very good size for a private pool.

The sitting room offers a comfortable place for the guests to gather to watch a movie or enjoy a cocktail before dinner. Behind it is a dining table and a bar. A discrete kitchenette allows guests to prepare a light lunch or snacks.

The two bedrooms are very similar in size and amenities, and each has a charming ensuite bathroom with the signature tiled tub with shower above. One of the bedrooms has a curved sofa for additional relaxation space; both have a writing desk and a terrace.

There’s an additional half-bath with step-in shower accessed from the hallway.

Suite Angela 1, with its front seat view of idyllic Maroma beach, is a fabulous choice for a couple. In addition to the beachfront swimming pool, it has a huge bedroom and living room plus a private walled garden to the rear.

The swimming pool is slightly elevated from the beach, so guests staying in the suite enjoy privacy and can admire the brilliant turquoise hues of the sea whilst cooling off in the pool.

Inside the suite is a beautifully furnished sitting room, with a curved sofa and two comfortable armchairs, just perfect for enjoying morning coffee or evening cocktails. The full length windows allow views of the Caribbean and white sand beach.

An archway behind the sitting area reveals the king size bed, dressed in fine linens and draped in white nets. From the bed, one can see the ocean through the front windows, and also watch the television that’s positioned just to the side. The mini-refrigerator and a selection of glassware is here too.

Behind the sleeping area is the magnificent bathroom and dressing room. A pretty tiled tub that’s big enough for two takes center stage, with his-and-hers vanity units in sleek wood to either side.

This suite is perfect for couples who love indulgent bathing. In addition to the tub, they can also enjoy a unique outdoor shower in the private walled garden to the rear of the suite. There’s also a regular step-in shower in the dressing area.

The three Angela suites are all fabulously indulgent, but Angela 2 could be the most romantic. It’s located above Angela 1, on the second floor, and has the same floorspace and internal layout. Instead of the garden and swimming pool, it has a beautiful rooftop terrace with a circular plunge pool and far reaching views of Maroma bay.

The spacious interior features a large sitting area adjacent to the full length windows and prime ocean view balcony. The bedroom is slightly elevated from the sitting area, allowing ocean views from the king size bed.

Behind the bedroom is a spacious bathroom and dressing area featuring a circular tiled tub. As in Angela 1, there’s an archway behind the bed so that guests can admire the ocean views from the tub itself.

This suite offers an incredible amount of space for just two people. We can imagine that a couple of honeymooners would be very happy to spend most of their vacation in Angela 2, maybe escaping for a romantic dinner by the beach at el Pavo Real by the Sea. There’s so much privacy and seclusion here, and the views are unforgettable.

The third of the Angela suites is located on the second floor and also enjoys wonderful ocean views. It has a balcony with memorable vistas of palm trees and the turquoise blue Caribbean.

Inside, there’s a beautifully furnished bedroom with a king size bed, and a sitting area that’s a little smaller than those in Angela 1 and 2.

The bathroom features a circular tiled tub with a direct view of the beach through the palms. There’s a also a regular walk-in shower and a beautiful wooden vanity unit.

Angela 4 is located on the ground floor, just beneath Angela 3. It has a terrace with an ocean view and is just a few paces from the beach. The interior is similar to that of Angela 3, with a king bed and a pretty sitting area.

Kin Sol Soleil’s Villa Karolina houses the intimate Pavo Real by the Sea restaurant and also four beautiful one bedroom suites. Two suites are located at each side of the building, one on the ground floor and one above. Each has a private balcony or terrace with sea view.

The Karolina suites have use of the enticing circular swimming pool, and of course they are only a few steps away from the world famous Maroma beach.

The Karolina suites each have a king bed and are furnished in the same exquisite style as the other acommodations here. Although each suite is independent, these four suites would make a fanatastic choice for a family get together when rented together.

restaurant

The restaurant at Kin Sol Soleil is French chef Guillaume Raynal’s exquisite “Pavo Real by the Sea”, an offshoot of his original “Pavo Real” restaurant that’s located by the highway on the Maroma estate.

“Pavo Real by the Sea” offers guests at Kin Sol Soleil and also visitors (by prior reservation) a choice of tables by the beautiful beach or in a charming dining room. The menu features the freshest ingredients with a French twist, including seafood, risottos, foie gras and fine steaks.

The beachfront restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and we recommend that guests also check out the hacienda-style “Pavo Real” for an extensive range of dishes in a different setting.

Enjoy a cocktail at Kin Sol Soleil’s cute beachfront bar before your meal, or for refreshment during a lazy day on the beach.

beach

Kin Sol Soleil sits on the most beautiful section of Maroma bay, adjacent to the Orient Express Maroma Resort and Spa. This beach was voted one of the top ten in the world by the Travel Channel.

The seemingly endless white sand is powder soft and cool to the touch, while the picture-perfect turquoise Caribbean sea is usually calm and ideal for swimming or snorkeling.

Water sports can be arranged along the bay, and bar service is available at the Villa Angela’s cute beachfront bar.

pool

The beautiful circular swimming pool at Kin Sol Soleil lies in front of the restaurant “Pavo Real by the Sea” and right by the beach.
