In a nutshell:
Romantic, intimate and indulgent boutique hotel, where accommodations are thatched roof bungalows, each with a private plunge pool, surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Spa, gourmet restaurant, and pretty beach.

The Viceroy Riviera Maya (formerly the Tides Riviera Maya and originally Ikal del Mar) is one of the hottest properties on the Mexican Caribbean.

Honeymooners will delight in the privacy of the individual villas, each with a plunge pool, surrounded by lush tropical gardens.

The Viceroy will surprise and delight with numerous small details, from super lightweight duvets and fine cotton sheets to the heated plunge pools for spontaneous midnight dips.

An added bonus is the outstanding restaurant, providing innovative cuisine in a alluring and informal setting. We can also recommend the resort’s stylish and highly professional spa.

Regular visitors will want to check out the newest villas at the property, including the sumptuous Beachfront and Royal Ocean View villas. In addition to their proximity to the beach, these villas also have lavish bathrooms with soaking tubs and outdoor moon showers.

Rooms

The Viceroy Riviera Maya’s guest villas nestle in lush tropical foliage on a narrow plot bordering the Caribbean.

Only indigenous materials were used in the construction of these seductive accommodations, each of which features a private plunge pool and large, shady terrace.

In addition to their plunge pools, Royal Villas also feature a private wooden deck for sunbathing. The newer categories (Premium, Ocean View and Beachfront villas) are larger and include lavish bathrooms equipped with a soaking tub plus indoor and outdoor showers.

The Presidential Villa is a two story palapa roofed villa. It boasts a separate living room and dining room and is perfect for entertaining.

restaurant

“An outstanding restaurant ” is the comment echoed throughout The Viceroy Riviera Maya’s guest book. The menu is innovative, with fresh seafood featuring strongly in the appetizers and main courses, and the presentation is excellent. The Viceroy Riviera Maya also has an unusually good wine cellar.

Guests can choose to take dinner in either the second floor restaurant “la Marea” or the Coral Grille restaurant at the pool level.

For lunch, many guests prefer the tables that spill out onto the pool terrace and a lighter menu is available including pastas, club sandwiches and salads.

For an especially memorable occasion, tables can be set on the beach, by the pool or in the privacy of your villa.

beach

The Viceroy Riviera Maya faces the turquoise Caribbean, with the varying shades of turquoise blue making a spectacular backdrop to the property. In the evening, the twinkling lights of Cozumel island on the horizon are equally mesmerising.

It’s possible to walk along the beach for miles in either direction, and the sand is powder soft and cool to the touch.

There are rocks in the shallow water directly in front of the hotel but it is possible to wade into the ocean and swim just a short walk away.

pool

The beachside pool catches the ocean breezes and is a pleasant place to sunbathe or relax. The hotel grounds are open only to guests and, since many find it difficult to tear themselves away from the privacy of their villas, you’ll find this area refreshingly peaceful even when the resort is at full occupancy.
