history and green policy
The Angel Azul Inn is located in the historic center of
la Paz just a few blocks from the Cathedral. The
building was formerly the city courthouse and has been
designated a historic monument by INAH.
Esther Ammann started to renovate the building in 1998 and created this very intimate and charming hotel.
Since 2008, El Angel Azul has been a proud member of the UN Foundation of Sustainable Tourism, and the World Heritage Alliance. They are, therefore, committed to providing green service to the clients.
Here are some of the ways in which the hotel is working to protect the environment:
In our kitchen we use soy oil, and eggs from free-range hens at local farms.
We use only local products and fresh food in season.
We do not serve red meat or pork.
During the summer, we don’t use hot water in the showers.
We recycle plastic, glass bottles, and aluminium cans.
We use biodegradable laundry soap.
