Most properties in Los Cabos are either over-the-top glitzy or rather dull, so it's refreshing to find this intimate boutique hotel with stylish rooms, a great restaurant, and reasonable prices too. It's no surprise that the Cabo Surf attracts a high number of repeat guests and runs close to full occupancy throughout the year. But book early and you can reserve a room with one of the best ocean views around, a suite that's big enough to accommodate up to 8 people comfortably, or a Junior Suite with a kitchenette and dining area.

The Cabo Surf's location is ideal; it's just a few minutes drive from the trendy wine bars and art galleries of San Jose del Cabo, and the same distance from one of the best swimming beaches, at Palmilla. The hotel's restaurant is excellent and pleasantly casual too, though the Oceanside location and candlelit setting makes dinner a romantic occasion despite the lack of dress code. If you are planning a long stay or love to explore different restaurants then there are some gourmet options nearby, and some low-key nightlife in San Jose del Cabo.

The beach here is one of the prime surfing spots in the region and the property offers surf tuition and hosts tournaments, so it's often a hive of sporting activity. Non-surfers won't usually feel out of place here even at the busiest times, although the service (though very friendly) might not be as personal and attentive when the resort is stretched.

It's a good choice for families who want high quality accommodations in a convenient location and who don't necessarily need a full service concierge or all the on-site activities of a large resort. We also highly recommend the Cabo Surf for couples (surfers or non-surfers) looking for an intimate and romantic beachside hideaway. Visit just once and you're sure to be back again very soon.
