| We had a great time there. Beautiful place, beautiful room--and very nice people. A bit isolated, however. Next time, another hacienda.

| We had a fabulous time. I always love the Yucatan. Hacienda Santa Rosa: Initially, I was a bit put off, but then the place grew on me, and it was amazing. For some reason, I had expected acres of beautiful gardens, but the Hacienda is basically smack in the middle of a dusty small town. When we first arrived, we could hear music from a boom box in town - so it was not quite what we expected. There is a large herb garden, which is interesting, but not particularly visually stunning. But the room - oh my - it was incredible. And the attentiveness of the staff was lovely. The food was overpriced and just ok, but the setting for dinner was lovely. I would avoid the plunge pool outside the suites for anything except observation - the many birds found it to be a good bath, and sal de bain, so to speak, and my husband got an ear infection after he plunged in it. The other pool is nice though. All in all, I am very glad we stayed there. On the morning we left, my son's bed was scattered with Easter candy and little gifts. It was a lovely touch, as was the bouganvilla placed everywhere in the room, and the handwritten welcome note and basket of fruit. A very special place - despite my initial reaction - I would definitely recommend it. The room at Hacienda Santa Rosa was one of the highlights of our trip. Once again, thank you for your wonderful service. L. Landsman, Cabin John, United States

| Hacienda Santa Rosa: quite a lovely place. We enjoyed the overall serenity and beauty of the setting. The staff and manager were extremely hospital and helpful. The food, outdoors on a terrace overlooking the lawns illuminated by candles in small white bags, was the best we've ever had in Mexico, albeit (expectedly) pricey. Our high ceilinged room (upgraded to junior suite, mainly I think because the hotel was almost empty due to hurricane Wilma prior cancellations) was very comfortable, with a great bathroom. Nights were noisy due to dogs barking and cocks crowing (at 2 am) but we got used to this. The hotel is remote and isolated, and hard to find, unless you're good at map reading. Signs on major roads helped; but the distances on the hotel's web site were mostly wrong. It's about an hour plus to most areas of touristic interest in the region (Uxmal and Puuc Route, Celestun...)
