Over a thousand candles are lit every night at the Hotelito. Each palafito has a novel range of candle holders, from the bizarre to the practical - including intricate bird cages in the beach rooms and an enormous glass chandelier in the reception.

As darkness falls the staff tour the guest quarters to perform the unique turndown service, whereafter a flickering glow emanates from the windows of each occupied palafito. At the same time the maids loosen the drapes around each bed to form a protective cocoon.

Flaming torches light the paths that weave around the resort and guide the guests over the wooden bridges to the soft glow of the restaurant lanterns.

Meanwhile, a thousand stars twinkle above, their radiance for once unchallenged.
