Hotelito Desconocido

beach

the beach

This wildly beautiful stretch of coastline has remained untouched due to preservation orders - it is one of the last remaining natural habitats of the sea turtle and an important nature reserve.

The Hotelito's virgin beach extends for miles and is a delight for horseback riding and morning strolls. As a more relaxing alternative, guests take pleasure in reclining under shady palapas to watch the powerful waves from a safe distance.

The sea is treacherous due to strong undertows and conditions are always red flag. Guests often swim in the calmer waters of the estuary, but the beachside swimming pool more than compensates for nature's aggression.

Guests visiting from June through January have the opportunity to see the turtles return to beach to lay their eggs. Under the protection of the resort's biologists, the eggs are nurtured as the baby turtles hatch, and a short time later they are released to the ocean.

Hotelito's guests are privileged to witness the hatching and can participate in the release of the baby turtles, which has to take place under cover of darkness. Small groups of guests enthusiastically encourage the tiny turtles, on some days numbering hundreds, as they pursue nature's course into the raging ocean.
