| The Hotelito Desconocido was disappointing. We were not very pleased with the whole experience. It is a beautiful location and the food was excellent, however the lack of air conditioning and intense amount of biting insects was very uncomfortable. I knew that it was an eco lodge and that there was no electricity, however there was one fan in our room that was completely ineffective due to the wooden canopy over the bed. It was so hot at night, that it was virtually impossible to sleep. There was no escape from the bugs and heat. Also, I was very disappointed that we were not able to go in the ocean at the beach in front of the hotel as the current is too strong. I did feel like this should have been part of the description on the website (maybe it was and I didn't notice). Regardless, for the price of the all-inclusive stay, we both felt that it was over-rated and extremely overpriced. That all being said, of course we had fun, as it was an adventure! Thanks again for such great service. You were wonderful to work with, and really helped us pull all of this together.

| 1. They assigned us the worst room on the beach; the only one with no ocean-facing windows, which greatly reduced the ventilation in a non-AC hotel. 2. They did not honor their promise/my request via you for a king sized bed, even when one opened up during out stay, which was after we had reminded them of the request and requested another room (see #1) 3. They did not honor my request via you for ice in the room; we had to carry around a bucket which sometimes they would fill and usually melted (even inside our cooler) before we could get more. 4. They did not provide additional Diet Coke, even for a fee, as requested by me via you; nor would they bring one with the coffee. 5. They could not seem to remember that I do not eat meat; I had to remind the exact same waitstaff at every meal, and some staff seemed indignant at times. Other staff was very nice, clearly and admittedly in an effort to make up for everyone else. 6. They tried -- quite vehemently -- to charge us for the nesting tour that was clearly stated as included in our package. 7. They charge extra for anything but the minimum "romantic dinner" in our package, which cannot even be a special meal ... just a different location for which they charge. 8. There were too few candles, so the rooms were useless after dark. The candles actually sounded romantic and were one thing we looked forward to. 9. The accommodations did not fit the bill of a "small luxury hotel". They were poor quality sheets, flat pillows, hard beds and scratchy blankets. And the shower may be "open air" but it's not a garden shower. 10. They were stingy with what little electricity they provided in the rooms -- a solar powered fan at night -- and did not even follow their own guidelines for when it would be turned on and off. 11. Their activity director can't remember a schedule, the bird watching tour is a joke, and no one told us to wear pants/bug spray for horseback riding even though they knew the horses are the only thing at the place that attracts mosquitos and they ride through brambles with thorns. 12. Do you know they expect you to put your used toilet paper in the waste basket and not flush it? It's gross and your room smells latrine ... the little unventilated bathroom smelled so bad my husband couldn't walk in without gagging and we quit doing it. I just cannot imagine another "small luxury hotel of the world" that would expect that, even for environmental reasons. They never mention that on the website. 13. Everyone else we spoke to either knew the owner or knew someone who knew the owner ... maybe that was the reason we weren't treated on par with other guests. It was very petty. In short, they are extremely cheap and stingy for a luxury hotel. The value is simply not there other than the location. The location and grounds are lovely, the seclusion marvelous, the turtles very interesting (although they do not provide an interpreter for their non-English speaking biologist), and the meals were generally good. I have friends who want to go based on the pre-trip description, and I cannot in good conscience recommend it unless they just want to sit on the beach. It is not worth the price of room and board. I like your service, though, and will look again at your other hotels. Name and address withheld
