Las Alamandas is great! Very friendly staff and attentive service. Beautiful, remote, peaceful location. Nothing to intrude on your privacy (except Dr. X - the resident "healer", who was very intrusive and annoying). Spacious, almost luxurious, accommodations. Very good food - fresh and delicious, not haute.

Some disappointments: Very poor house wine and we had two very "off" splits of white in our mini-bar - stick to beer and margarita. Some plumbing was a bit rickety. Gym hardware badly needs updating. Bicycles need to be replaced with new ones.

We hope to be repeat-visitors.

We had a great time despite temps in the 90's and tons of mosquitos.  The main disappointment was the bird island trip.  We were literally dumped off on a trashy island with debris all over the water & nothing to see snorkeling except for a few blue tiny fish and a snake, besides all the debris.  Part of our picnic lunch had been "taken".  Also, the guides did not explain anything to us, just dumped us off & left waving.  It was a bit disconcerting...we were hoping we would be remembered and picked up before the approaching rains...we were!!.  The other milder disappointment was the hard mattresses...they really should invest in some updated ones.  One other complaint was the trash on the beach in front of the hotel.  It would be better if they would have it cleaned up every morning. On a nicer note, the food was delicious, service was very good and friendly.  We loved San Antonio 2, with the patio on the roof.  The mountain bikes were fun--but wished they had softer seats and supplied gloves for gripping the handle bars.  Horseback riding was great!  The sunset champagne and cheese was really nice and the horses were very responsive.  The tennis courts were fine, as was the ping pong table.  We did not venture out in the ocean in front of the hotel because the surf was big and they warned about strong rip tides.  The romantic dinner was very nice in the massage palapa...not too far because of mosquitos. The trip from the airport was more like 2.5 hours--they did a good job transporting us. We hope to return someday to the area...
