Dining at the Oasis, Las Alamandas' full-service
restaurant, is a relaxed and intimate affair. Despite
the exclusive clientele, the dress code is elegantly
informal (no jackets and ties required), and the setting
is rustically charming and typically colorful. Sipping
margaritas on the patio conjures up images of the
Hacienda days, but the menu is decidedly modern.
Continental favorites are mixed with authentic Mexican dishes, and the emphasis is always on fresh and healthy cuisine. Fish and seafood are brought in daily from local fishermen, eggs and chicken are free-range and many of the fruits and vegetables are grown organically on the property.
The same menus can be enjoyed in the privacy of your
villa, and breakfast on your own patio is heavenly. The
simple pleasures of fresh tropical fruits and warm
pastries (the resort has its own bakery) would be
sufficient, though a tempting selection of hot dishes
are also on offer.
At lunchtime the Palapa Beach Club is a favorite dining spot. The open sided pavilion overlooks the beach and is cooled by ocean breezes. Alternatively, take a picnic to a nearby deserted beach.
For the ultimate in romantic occasions a table can be set on the beach at night, with champagne and candlelight - and with fireworks and mariachis for entertainment.
