WE HAD AN ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL STAY AT LE REVE.  THE BEACHFRONT ROOMS WERE SUPERB AND THE MANAGEMENT STAFF WAS DELIGHTFUL AND JUST GREAT.  DID I FAIL TO MENTION IT WAS BEAUTIFUL AS WELL??!!!

THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE RECOMMENDATION AND ACCOMODATIONS.  THIS IS EXACTLY THE KIND OF HOTEL THAT WE LOVE!

MANY MANY THANKS,

We had a very nice time at Le Reve, it really suited our purposes for the week. It's a lovely property. I'll just give you some thoughts on Le Reve and the Riviera Maya in general. Le Reve: Very difficult to find on our night of arrival.  Being night time it complicated our effort I'm sure.  We stayed at the Tides next door our last trip down there and it is in the same general location - but I would say for someone with no knowledge of the area it would be almost impossible to find.  The directions we received from Le Reve take for granted that people arriviing during the day and can see the landmarks they give you (billboards).  They should give you an approximate number of kilometers from a well lit landmark so that you know where to turn from the main road (307). The dirt road getting there is not all that well marked either.   Our first night (it was probably around 5-6pm) I tried calling the concierge or front desk for something and the phone just rang and rang for 10 minutes, I tried again a few minutes later and same thing. One of our first nights we asked one of the assistant managers for a bucket of Ice and it never came. We asked one of the concierges for a speaker for our Ipod (which the literature says is included with the room)  he told us it was only provided with the bungalow suites.  I told another concierge about this the next day and he said he'd see what he could do.  We found the speaker in our room when we came back from the beach - very nice of him. The food and service were excellent at the restaurant.  My only complaint is that the breakfast (which was supposed to be included) was a pretty measly continental breakfast, there are some nice choices for other mexican style dishes which we paid around $8 extra.  I think it would be a nice touch to give you your choice of breakfast dishes (not just continental) if they include breakfast in your rate. The pool was very nice, a little cold for my liking but very nice. The beach chaises were very nice, always set up in the morning with clean towels.   Riviera Maya in general:   The beach just in front of the property is clean but when you walk in either direction of the hotel the beach is dirty with trash that's either left on the beach or washed up.  They have built a couple huge all inclusives since the last time we were there - which add to the trash. The beach itself is not, in my opinion, a good swimming beach - even with reef shoes.  The fact that our entire week it was a bit windy and the water was not calm may add to that. We ended up driving to Tulum several times over the course of the week to go to a nicer beach (about an 1.15 hour drive) which got a little old towards the end of the week.   We loved the fact, after visiting other properties while we were there, that Le Reve was all adults.  We had lunch at Escencia and a few small hotels in Tulum which had families with lots of children.  I like children but it would not have made for a relaxing stay.   I had a great massage at Le Reve, very professional which is sometimes hard to find in Mexico.   Overall it was a very nice vacation but I don't think we will return to the Riviera Maya.  It seems to be on a road to rampant over-development and mass tourism.    Thanks for your help in organizing our trip, we would definitely use your website/service again.
