My husband and I had a wonderful time at Majahuitas. We were there for eight nights and became so relaxed that we were afraid to stay longer for fear of never being able to leave. I loved the water for swimming. The staff was completely accomodating and the food was amazing -- just the right combination of fresh seafood and vegetables with a Mexican flair. And the casita, with its openess and privacy, became our small home away from home. Thank you so much.

One suggestion, but just a small one. I think you might want to put some kind of screen on the outside door to the bathroom in Chula Vista, particularly if you expect to be using Kliff House at the same time. It was perfect when no one was there, but when it became occupied by a family with children, we felt a little exposed as they ran up and down and we were showering, etc.

Thank you for following up on our vacation at Majahuitas. I am sorry to say it wasn't exactly what we were expecting based on all the wonderful reviews we had read before booking. It was interesting that after I booked the trip I rechecked the reviews on Trip Advisor and there was a new one that was the only poor one there was and it was when the owners were not there. Well, the owners were also out when we visited and I can relate to the bad review now. The location and casitas were beautiful and exactly what we expected. However the food and service were a major disappointment. I had read such great things about the food and was really looking forward to it. I can't believe it was at the same level it would have been if the owners would have been there and received such great reviews. Lunch consisted (for two people) a tortilla sandwich with one slice of ham & cheese, four tiny (popcorn size) shrimp, four small fish sticks and a bowl of macaroni salad with hot dogs cut up in it!! Dinner was a chicken breast with gravy and a spoon of plain rice (also got a spoon of plain rice the next dinner). Very bland and unoriginal. Desert was the same filling (watery custard) both nights - once in a bowl and once in a pie shell. This is not the "gourmet" food we were expecting.

The service was also very disappointing. We were never once approached while at the beach for hours at a time if we wanted a drink. Every time we had to walk to the bar even after 4 or 5 times. No one really seemed to know where anything was (I'm talking a can of pop) and ice was given sparingly out of a dirty cooler filled with water!! When trying to get info on snorkeling or kayaking we were met with blank stares and now wasn't a really a good time of the year?! It was really odd.

We also had some questions about the water taxi service provided by the resort. I had printed information saying that if you got your own transportation to the small town near (can't remember the name) the boat was complimentary. We were charged $50.00 for the trip even after I showed him the page. It didn't even cost us $50.00 round trip from Puerto Vallarta in a Taxi 40 minutes each way compared to the 30 minutes total for the boat! On the boat ride back we noticed a couple of the guys loading gas tanks on the boat before we got on. It was really interesting when after they got around the corner of the resort we pulled over to another boat and they started siphoning gas into the other boat. This may be something the owners would be interested in knowing.

Again the location and buildings were great and we had a good time just relaxing in such a beautiful place but based on what we experienced I would never recommend going if the owners were not there to ensure what appeared to be a great experience for so many other people.
