Majahuitas Resort is located on the Bay of Banderas about 13 miles south-west of Puerto Vallarta. It is accessible only by sea. The hotel offers complimentary boat transfers from La Boca de Tomatlan for guests staying for 4 nights or more, and will meet guests arriving by air at Puerto Vallarta airport. For guests staying one to three nights, the same airport greeting and boat transfer service can be arranged for 40 USD one-way, or 80 USD for the round trip (per casita). Water taxis are available throughout the day (9am to 5:30pm) at la Boca, and the cost is around 10 USD one-way per person. The twenty minute transfer by boat along the beautiful coastline of the Bay of Banderas will be one of the highlights of your stay and is a wonderful way to start a vacation.

Due to the necessity of boat transfers, it is strongly recommended that guests try to schedule their arrival in Puerto Vallarta as early in the day as possible and before 5pm. Transportation to the resort is not provided after dark, and it must be remembered that flight delays can occur and customs procedures may be lengthy. If late arrivals are necessary then we would recommend staying in town one night before transferring to the resort (Different World can make these arrangements for you).

You will be greeted on arrival and the hotel staff will assist you in arranging a land-based taxi to La Boca de Tomatlan (30 to 45 minutes; fare approx $40 US) from where the hotel's launch will transport you to the resort (journey time 20 to 30 minutes. Please advise flight details when making your reservation so we can co-ordinate your pickup.

Note that the easiest way ashore at the resort is to walk through the shallow water from the boat, so wearing shorts for arrival would be ideal. However, the staff are well used to transferring all types of goods and passengers from these boats, so rest assured that you won't get wet if you don't want to!

from puerto vallarta

If you are staying in Puerto Vallarta immediately before your visit to Majahuitas please contact us to arrange your boat transfers to the resort. These transfers are complimentary but need to be scheduled in advance. The boats leave from La Boca del Tomatlan, a small town just outside Puerto Vallarta. A taxi to La Boca will cost around 150 pesos from the Marina and less from the hotel zone or downtown Puerto Vallarta.
