Blissful days at Majahuitas begin as the sound of birdsong and the lapping of waves on the shore invades your dreams.

Step onto the deck and you feel the warmth of the early sun and the freshness of the air. The moment is enhanced by the discovery of hot coffee or tea delivered to your casita, one example of the unobtrusive and thoughtful service that complements this secluded resort so well.

Our favorite memories are often of these first few hours watching the early sunlight on the waves and contemplating the promises of the day.

After breakfast by the beach, the lure of the sands and crystal clear ocean draws guests away from their rooms. With snorkeling and kayaks both available your days can be active, though an added pleasure lies in the knowledge that, if you wish, you can simply spend the day in a hammock with a good book.

As darkness falls the pathways are lit by flickering candles and mark the way to a romantic waterside meal. The perfect day can end with a beachside bonfire or a stroll on the sands and the anticipation of drifting to sleep to the sound of the ocean.

Inside your casita you'll find all the amenities required for days of idyllic relaxation. Each has a delightful sitting area, open to the sea breezes but providing some welcome shade, and a hammock for blissful siestas.

Furnishings are enchantingly simple and largely handcrafted; wood and tile predominate.

Naturally you won't find televisions or telephones here - an advantage for those wishing to escape from the trappings of city life. We defy even the most hardened workaholic to think of their office while staying here.

The casitas vary in size and can sleep from two to four people. Some have couches that convert to beds suitable for children, in addition to one or two bedrooms.

Each bedroom is provided with a fine mosquito net suspended from the ceiling which can be draped over the bed as dusk falls.

Note that there are no electrical sockets in the rooms for hairdryers or other appliances.
