Our trip to Maroma was very very nice.  The accommodations and the service were excellent.  Unfortunately, I did get food poisoning from one meal at Maroma - I suspect that the vegetables were not cooked well enough.  On the positive side, it only lasted for about 28 hours.  I am not sure if this has happened to other guests or just lucky me who has a delicate gastrointestinal tract.  Otherwise, I thought it was a fantastic vacation.  Thanks for all your helpful assistance.

We are still floating on our Maroma cloud. It was exactly what we needed, total relaxation. Little glitches caused by the renovations were easy to ignore. The restaurant staff was exemplary, always at our service. Housekeeping maintained the rooms impeccably. Beautiful flowers in the room, to-die-for chocolate confections with evening turn down. We've traveled a lot, but Maroma is at the top of our list.

First and foremost, let me say that working with A Different World, was truly a pleasure. Their recommendations are simply wonderful. I sincerely wish they covered other parts of the world, in addition to Mexico. If they did, they would be my first choice for any and all trip planning for me and my family.

Maroma was absolutely spectacular. The location and the property are very nice and you feel as though you are a world away from Cancun. We've stayed in many top notch resorts, but I must say, the service was like nothing we'd experienced before. Every member of the staff is quick to go above and beyond to accommodate your every need. Our initial evening we were in a room that had some noise from the bar/restaurant area while we were trying to sleep. Additionally, on 2 different occasions someone tried to enter our room. It was about 11pm, so this was sort of
unsettling. The next morning, we talked to the Hospitality Desk and they moved us to an incredible room (#37). We couldn't have been more
pleased with the room and it's proximity to the beach. As I said, the overall service at Maroma is truly amazing.

The food is wonderful at Maroma - although, it is quite expensive. Since there is virtually no other option availabe - unless you take a $40 plus tips taxi cab (round trip) to Playa Del Carmen, you really are limited to eating very expensive meals at Maroma. Overall, I don't think this is a negative, my only recommendation would be to either provide some lower cost options onsite at Maroma for those that don't want a big expensive lunch AND dinner everyday for a week - or provide some sort of daily shuttle service that would allow for going into Playa Del Carmen in a more affordable manner.

My only other comment would be about a few hidden charges that can really add up over time. Even thought breakfast was included in our
rate, we got charged for water, which we weren't told about. We passed on the freshly squeezed juices each day (which I'm sure are at least
equal in cost to water) and instead opted for water - at a whopping $14/bottle. WOW! Same with dinner and lunch...that's over $50/day in
water fees while dining...and kayaking, that was $20 per person for 30 minutes. I have travelled a lot and have never been charged for use of
non-motorized water sports. At a resort where you are paying these kind of rates, that seems like nickel and diming the clients to me. It sort
of takes the 5 star status away when you get hit with all these little hidden fees.

Overall, though, Maroma was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay there so much and we'll definitely consider going back. We have already told
friends and family about it and imagine someone will be heading to Maroma in the near future based on our rave reviews! :)
