the guest rooms
The hotel was built in 1923 and has the style of a colonial hacienda; this is particularly reflected in the impressive lobby with its columns and sweeping staircase.
The rooms feature heavy cedarwood furniture and doors and window frames which are beautifully carved and decorated. There is also extensive use of beautiful stained glass depicting local wildlife, including the many exotic birds to be found in the grounds.
The rooms in the main hotel building all have breezy terraces furnished with tables and chairs. They look out over the surrounding countryside; some even have glimpses of the Observatory and ancient temples of Chichen Itza through the trees.
All rooms feature air-conditioning, ceiling fans, mini bar and satellite TV.
