the guest rooms

There are 55 Superior Rooms and 5 Mayan Suites located in the main hotel building.

The hotel was built in 1923 and has the style of a colonial hacienda; this is particularly reflected in the impressive lobby with its columns and sweeping staircase.

The rooms feature heavy cedarwood furniture and doors and window frames which are beautifully carved and decorated. There is also extensive use of beautiful stained glass depicting local wildlife, including the many exotic birds to be found in the grounds.

The rooms in the main hotel building all have breezy terraces furnished with tables and chairs. They look out over the surrounding countryside; some even have glimpses of the Observatory and ancient temples of Chichen Itza through the trees.

The Mayan Bungalows are located in the Mayaland's extensive gardens. These rooms are in clusters of two or three connected houses and are built like traditional Mayan cottages with a thatched roof and adobe walls. The interiors of the rooms have a more rustic appearance than those in the main house.

All rooms feature air-conditioning, ceiling fans, mini bar and satellite TV.
