our opinion
We love the accommodation at Ocho. It's a little less rustic than some of the other small
beach hotels in the area but still gives you an authentic beach cabana experience. The
rooms are spacious and comfortable and even in the Garden and Partial Ocean View Rooms located
towards the back of the resort you can still hear the ocean.
Meshed windows mean that you can leave the shutters open at night, letting the sea breezes in
to cool the room much more effectively than a ceiling fan.
The hotel has a welcoming atmosphere with friendly but highly efficient service. Located towards the southern end of the 'hotel zone', this is a truly stunning part of the beach. It's located at the top of a dune looking down over the main stretch of beach and provides some spectacular views.
The breezy beachfront restaurant is open throughout the day with great views of the Caribbean.
The menu includes snacks and a wide variety of dishes for dinner, including
fish, pasta and Mexican specialities, complemented by an interesting selection of wines and some great margaritas!
Ocho has a good range of facilities, including a spa offering body and facial treatments. There are yoga classes twice daily and the hotel has bicycles available for guests to use. The water sports center provides kayaks and can provide kite-boarding lessons.
