Om Tulum is a small rustic resort located on a long stretch of beautiful beach. It's set a little way south of the main Tulum 'hotel zone', heading towards the entrance to the Biosphere Reserve.

Like its sister, Om Hotel Lounge Bar and Restaurant in Playa del Carmen, it has a distinctive style that combines both modern and more traditional themes.

There are just nine rooms, arranged in two low-rise wooden buildings and topped with traditional palpa roofs. Long wooden terraces overlook pretty gardens and are draped with bright red curtains.

There is electricity through most of the day until 1.00 am and rooms have electrical sockets for low-voltage equipment and ceiling fans.

The resort has a small beachfront restaurant that opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The beach bar is a popular hangout during the day with a good selection of beers and cocktails and snacks available. There are plenty of places to chill out down here with tables and chairs, hammocks and sunbeds.

Om accepts children of all ages, and it's a particularly good choice for families. The water is calm and suitable for swimming, and kids will love spending the day playing in the sand. The restaurant has a children's menu.
