the beach
The hotel's name-sake, Playa la Media Luna (or Half Moon
beach) is a wonderfully quiet and secluded spot.
As the name suggests, it's a half-moon crescent shape with rock formations either end. Although it's wonderful for sunbathing or long walks, the water here can get too rough for swimming and you need to watch out for the red flag.
Arguably the island's best beach, Playa Norte, is just a three-minute stroll from the hotel.
Sometimes known as Cocoteros or Los Cocos, Playa
Norte offers perfect powder-white sandy bay and beautifully clear water.
As its nick names suggest, the long stretch of
beach is fringed with tropical palm trees.
You'll also find open-air bars and hotels dotted amidst the palms, so you can easily cool off with a drink when you need to.
