dining
This is without doubt one of the best restaurants in Tulum. It has a small, cozy and intimate atmosphere and with its beachfront location has to be one of the most romantic locations for dinner. Tables are set out under a large palapa that's open to the ocean breezes so you can enjoy your pre-dinner drinks under a canopy of stars.
The Italian chef prepares a mix of vegetable and fish dishes with a distinct Mediterranean slant. There is no fixed menu: instead a large plate of antipasti is brought to you to enjoy with an aperitif. This consists of a mixed plate of bruschetta, olives, cheese and freshly-baked breads that you can munch while your waiter explains tonight's dinner options.
Everything is freshly prepared, so the menu typically includes a mix of today's catch, vegetables and home-made pasta. Salads are also generally available but please note that the restaurant doesn't serve any meat or chicken.
There are only a limited number of tables and this is a very popular restaurant with the locals, so we recommend that you arrive early. During our last visit, when the meal was over someone spotted a turtle, and we were lucky enough to see it laying its eggs on the moonlit beach. An unforgettable experience that rounded off a perfect evening.
