excursions

The reputable travel agency "Turismo el Convento" has an office in the hotel Victoria, and guests can easily make their tour reservations during their visit. The excursions shown in the table below are highly recommended. For advance reservations, email us with your requirements.

We also strongly recommend the specialist excursions offered by a group called Expediciones Sierra Norte, who have an office on Garcia Vigil (one of the main streets in the historic center of Oaxaca). This group's expert staff lead one day, two day and longer hiking and mountain biking tours into the towns in the hills around Oaxaca known as the Pueblos Mancomunados de la Sierra Norte. These tours will introduce you to the traditional way of life in these small villages, and give you the chance to observe the spectacular scenery. Two or more day trips involve overnight accommodations in the simple but very comfortable lodges that have been purpose built for the project. The group have a website at http://www.sierranorte.org.mx
