Isla Pajaros

This small island close to Holbox is home to an incredible variety of birds, including pelicans, egrets, herons, roseate spoonbills, ibis and frigates. An enjoyable excursion by boat takes you close to the island for viewing, without disturbing the birds in their sanctuary.

Pelicans

These beautiful birds can be seen flying over Holbox or feeding in the flats and sandbanks around the island.

Cenote Yalahua

A spring of crystal clear water emerges from the ground in this secluded spot, considered sacred by the Maya and sought after by pirates.

Dolphin Search

Look for dolphins in their natural habitat around the island and Yalahua lagoon. It's possible to see dolphins throughout the year and your guide will know the best places to look. A sighting isn't guaranteed, but will add to your happy memories of Isla Holbox.

Fishing

Fish using traditional methods in the shallow waters that surround Isla Holbox.
