The guest rooms at the W certainly have the wow factor. The sizzling red decor and spacious open plan bedroom-bathroom are impressive at first glance - it's not often you see a hammock in a city hotel!

If you're here on business you'll appreciate the technical set-up, including wireless broadband connectivity, dual-line cordless phones, voice-mail, speakerphone and conference capabilities.

But even the most dedicated executive will be tempted by the playtime perks; the 27 inch satellite TV with movies on command, DVD and CD player, the extravagant rain shower with Aveda toiletries and of course the signature W feather bed with lightweight down duvets and pillow-top mattress.

Spectacular rooms have a king bed or two queen beds plus a vibrant red sofa, with plenty of space remaining for the oversized desk.

Wonderful View rooms have two double beds and a pudding-bowl tub underneath the shower (but no sofa). These rooms are on the higher levels of the hotel, offering impressive city vistas.

The Cool Corner Suites or Fantastic Suites are staggering, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city - the deep round tub usually positioned to take advantage of the view - and inviting king beds.
