You may be in the city for sightseeing or for business, but after one peek at the W's spa facilities you'll find yourself making time in your schedule for some serious pampering. The atmosphere is wonderfully exotic for a city location - a ceiling-high temascal is the focal point at the moment but a super-sized Jacuzzi/relaxation pool will be opening soon.

Guests at the hotel can use the sauna and steam room free of charge and there's a small charge (around 10 USD per day) for use of the modern gymnasium. The tempting range of therapies include Aztec and Mayan themed massages and there's even a special treatment room for couples.

The huge temascal is a surprising sight for the fourth floor of a city hotel; it reaches almost to the ceiling and can accommodate six or more people.

The traditional Mayan ritual is often best experienced in a group and a minimum of four is required for the standard session; although a private ritual for two people can also be arranged at extra cost.

This is a hot and sweaty experience and, depending on the person, can be either relaxing or stimulating. Many people also find it to be very intense and moving.
