dining
restaurant
The restaurant at Zulum is a relaxed and informal place to eat.
Seating in the main section of the restaurant is at wooden tables
with heavy wooden chairs and there's an open kitchen so you can watch the dishes being prepared.
Swinging seats are arranged around the bar, for those who want to enjoy a margarita and watch the chefs at work.
food
The hotel often has special theme nights and some meals are prepared using
traditional Mayan cooking methods, like local fish wrapped in banana leaves and roasted in an
underground oven.
The restaurant specializes in local dishes, in particular locally-caught fish; while for breakfast (included in the longer stay packages) you can choose from tropical fruit, yogurt and granola, hot cakes or eggs cooked in various styles.
During our stay we thought that all the dishes were very reasonably priced.
