In a nutshell:
This legendary resort hotel has hosted statesmen and celebrities.  Each room is an independent casita on the hillside, each with a private or semi-private pool and spectacular views. Room service is delivered by a fleet of pink and white jeeps. Incredibly romantic, private and indulgent, but surprisingly affordable.

Most people know of this prestigious ‘pink and white paradise’ with its secluded casitas and 250 swimming pools. Though it’s bigger than most of our other Mexican recommendations, the privacy and indulgence of the accommodations make Las Brisas our favorite choice in Acapulco by far. The excellent service and personal attention are more typical of a small and intimate resort, and you won’t find crowds here even in high season.

Romantics and honeymooners will revel in the seclusion of their casitas and suites – we’d recommend the Suites for those who seek real privacy. A private pool dotted with fresh hibiscus blossoms and a stunning view from the patio, a minibar stocked with drinks and ice replenished daily and a choice of elegant restaurants or intimate poolside dining…who could ask for more?

The access roads around the hotel are steep and some of the rooms are located quite a distance from the restaurants and lobby. However, you can just call from your room for transportation within the resort at any time of day or night. Transportation is provided in Las Brisas’ trademark fleet of pink and white jeeps. There is also a regular shuttle service to the beach club.

Don’t miss the hotel’s ‘Bella Vista’ restaurant, with its spectacular setting and unparalleled views. For your first visit, dine in the evening – a truly romantic and memorable occasion. Night owls will be pleased to hear that Las Brisas is very close to the finest nightclubs in sizzling Acapulco.

Rooms

Pretty pink and white casitas dot the hillside of this self-contained paradise. The access roads can be steep (though they present no problem to the fleet of sturdy pink jeeps) but the views are amazing.

A recent 15 million dollar refurbishment has transformed the 300 casitas and suites, adding features such as rain showers, plasma screen TVs and luxury bedlinens. Regular guests will be impressed at the new style rooms, which blend a more comtemporary style with the the timeless elegance of this classic resort.

On the lower slopes are clusters of semi-private pool casitas, sharing a pool between two or three units. Each individual casita has its own terrace or balcony with furniture for outdoor dining, perfectly positioned to catch the light breezes.

Further up the hillside are the private pool casitas, with their own secluded swimming pool just steps from the bedroom. Their spacious terraces have exhilarating views of the ocean and bay, and are lined with hibiscus and bougainvillea.

Brisas Beach club casitas also have private pools and tend to have more privacy and better views than the Private Pool Casitas. Note though that, despite their name, they aren’t actually on a beach!

Junior Suites are positioned in the Fort area and have particularly private terraces with amazing views. It is possible to request adjoining rooms in this category, although each has its own private swimming pool.

For the ultimate indulgence, choose one of the lavish Master Suites. These are located on the very top level 5 of the resort and enjoy breathtaking views. Each has an outdoor sitting area with an oversized daybed.

Jacuzzi Suites have the same features as the Master Suites with the addition of an outdoor Jacuzzi by the pool. The spectacular Master Suites with indoor – outdoor swimming pools also have a separate living and dining area.

Four 2 or 3 bedroom suites, including the Presidential Suite la Roqueta, are also available.

Shared pool casitas are individual casitas that share a swimming pool between a group of 2 or 3 casitas. Sometimes the casitas might be in a duplex arrangement, with one above the other, or they may be side by side.

These accommodations can have either one king or two single beds. Each casita has a private terrace with outdoor dining furniture so that guests can enjoy the breathtaking views as soon as they wake, plus direct access to the large swimming pool terrace.  The pool itself is generally a little larger than those in the private pool casitas.

The shared pool casitas are a particularly good choice for groups of friends or a family to share. With this arrangement each couple can enjoy their privacy but all have access to the pool terrace, which offers a perfect communal living space.

Private pool casitas offer the luxury of your own enticing swimming pool – just a few steps from your room! At Las Brisas, this indulgence is surprisingly affordable, and the experience is one you’ll never forget. Every casita enjoys wonderful ocean views and the pool terrace is a great place to relax during the daytime, or even to enjoy a romantic evening meal.

From their lofty perch above the sultry beaches of Acapulco, these airy casitas provide an oasis of indulgence for every guest.

The Shared Pool, Private Pool and Brisas Beach Club casitas all have a similar design; wide patio doors onto the terrace or balcony and a color scheme of pale pastels. Fresh hibiscus blossoms – replaced daily – add a romantic touch.

Efficient air-conditioning will cool the room in minutes, but in the daytime we prefer to leave the doors open to catch the breezes, spending most of our time on the patio and by the swimming pool. With a well-stocked minibar and ice delivered to the door, there’s little temptation to leave this secluded paradise. Just switch the sign on the side gate to ‘do not disturb’ and simply relax…

Every casita is designed for maximum comfort during a long or short stay. There is ample closet space, good lighting, and a hairdryer. The water from the faucets in the casita is purified, telephones are direct-dial, and there is a security box in the room.

Brisas Beach Club casitas enjoy the prime locations with the most breathtaking views on level 4 and lots of privacy. All Brisas Beach Club casitas have one king bed, and children are not accepted in this room category. Each casita is furnished with a plasma screen TV with CD and DVD player.

We recommend the Brisas Beach Club casitas for honeymooners due to the extra privacy and views – many couples spend almost of their vacation in and around their casita. For guaranteed privacy, however, we recommend upgrading to a Junior Suite or Master Suite since the suites are not overlooked by any other rooms.

What better way to start the day than a quick dip in the pool, followed by breakfast on the terrace – watching the cruise ships sail into the harbor and planning another lazy day in the sun.

Junior Suites are all located in the popular Fort section on level 4, enjoying wonderful views of the bay. This area features turreted walls that are lit by torches at night.

Here it is possible to request adjoining suites that are on the same level, though each suite has complete privacy and its own swimming pool.  All these suites feature the new style bathroom with rain shower, plasma screen TV with CD and DVD player. These suites have guaranteed privacy as they are not overlooked by any other rooms.

Should you not wish to leave your suite, room service will deliver everything from a lunchtime snack to a romantic four course dinner, and the food is delicious. There’s certainly no need to rush down to breakfast in the morning, as a basket of fresh pastries, fruit and a flask of coffee will be delivered daily to your casita via a ‘magic box’.

This ingenious two-way hatch opens to both the outside of your casita (to allow hotel staff access without disturbing you) and the inside.

The incredible Master Suites are positioned at the very top of las Brisas on level 5. Each suite features an inviting outdoor sitting area with a huge daybed and a dining area sheltered from the sun.

This is a wonderful place to lounge during the hottest parts of the day, with the private swimming pool only steps away.

The newly refurbished interiors feature luxury bedlinen and bathrooms with a tropical feel – each has a rain shower with a glass ceiling that allows you to see the sun and the stars whilst bathing.  The indulgent combination of outdoor lounging areas and indoor pampering makes the Master Suites our top choice for honeymooners.

Of course these suites also have a magnificent private pool and sun terrace, with loungers positioned to take advantage of the mesmerizing views.

Being located on the top level 5 of Las Brisas, the Master Suites have some of the most spectacular vistas of all.

The Jacuzzi suites have the same indulgent amenities as the Master Suites, but with the addition of an outdoor Jacuzzi on the swimming pool terrace.

There’s plenty of space for relaxation outside, where guests can enjoy Acapulco’s sultry climate and cool off with a dip in their private pool.

The Jacuzzi suites have king beds from which guests can enjoy views of the ocean. There’s ample closet space, and amenities including hairdryers, flat screen TVs and room safe.

All Jacuzzi suites feature stylish bathrooms with rain showers and outdoor sitting areas with comfortable day beds.

These incredible suites have a fabulous indoor-outdoor swimming pool that flows beneath the full length windows connecting the living room and the terrace.

The suites have a separate bedroom with a king bed, so there’s plenty of space and privacy for entertaining.

There are just two of these suites, both located on level 4, with breathtaking views of the bay of Acapulco. They are the ultimate indugence in the one bedroom suites at Las Brisas.

This two bedroom villa offers very spacious accommodations for a family. The villa boasts a generously sized swimming pool with a very private sun terrace overlooking the bay of Acapulco. The views are spectacular!

The terrace also has a large covered section that’s perfect for outdoor dining, and a separate Jacuzzi. La Cascada is surrounded by tall palms and dense foliage, creating a tropical ambience. This villa also has its own private waterfall!

La Cascada has two bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with two twin beds. It has an outdoor sitting area but no separate living room.

La Encantada features a wonderfully large terrace with a swimming pool facing the Bay and, a few steps higher, an outdoor Jacuzzi.

La Encantada has two bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with two twin beds, and a separate sitting room.

The only three bedroom unit at Las Brisas, Villa Ramona is nestled into the hillside facing the Bay of Acapulco. Only one of the bedrooms enjoys ocean views, but the others have tranquil vistas of the lush tropical gardens on the hillsides of las Brisas. This villa has extensive outdoor relaxing areas and three very spacious bedrooms, making it perfect for a larger family.

Two of the bedrooms at Villa Ramona have a king bed and one has two beds. Each bedroom has a luxurious new style bathroom with rain shower.  The bathroom in the Master bedroom here is one of our favorites at the hotel – a huge daylight-filled room with a very tropical feel.

La Roqueta is the hotel’s Presidential Suite, a favorite with the long list of visiting celebrities here. It is named after the panoramic views of Roqueta island in the bay of Acapulco that are enjoyed from the bedrooms, living rooms and pool terrace. La Roqueta is positioned on the top level 5 of the resort.

This suite has a large indoor sitting room that is perfect for entertaining (la Roqueta is frequently the choice for small wedding ceremonies). Both bedrooms have king beds and fabulous bathrooms. The Master Bathroom has a shower with a picture-postcard view of the bay.

La Roqueta has a wonderful indoor-outdoor swimming pool – you can swim from the sitting room to the pool terrace!

restaurant

It would be difficult to find a more magical setting for a special meal than Las Brisas’ Bella Vista restaurant. Open to the starry sky and with the twinkling lights of the bay of Acapulco in the background, it is extraordinarily romantic.

The setting is enhanced by the tempting menu, featuring fresh seafood as a specialty, and fine wines. This is a place to linger over indulgent desserts and then coffees and liqueurs. We guarantee that you will find it difficult to tear yourself away.

By day the view is breathtaking too, and we strongly recommend that you take at least one breakfast here. The buffet is excellent, but there are many a la carte options including delicious Eggs Benedict.

As you look down over the wide expanse of the bay of Acapulco, you will be cooled by the gentle breezes from which ‘Las Brisas’ takes its name.

the beach club

The temptation to linger by your own pool all day may be strong, but guests often regret delaying a visit to Las Brisas’ exclusive beach club facilities in the Bay of Acapulco.

This is the perfect spot to indulge in water activities – scuba diving, water skiiing and sailboats are available from La Concha’s Water Sports Center. It’s also a great place to just relax – spending a lazy day by the large freeform swimming pool, with excellent bar and restaurant facilities on hand.

Children will love the islands, bridges and floats in the pools, and can play safely in the sea in the protected freshwater pool area.

Jeep transportation leaves from the reception to the Beach Club every 20 minutes. It’s not far from the main resort as the crow flies, but the road winds steeply down the hillside and we wouldn’t recommend walking. Swimsuits are de riguer around the pool, but bring coverups for the restaurant. Beach towels are provided at the Club.

This restaurant at la Concha is our favorite venue for lunch in Acapulco. Pretty pink tables are decorated with sea shells, and the views across the bay are sublime. Arrive early for a table right next to the ocean.

The hotel’s high standards are continued at La Concha – service is efficient and the cuisine superb.

Seafood would be a logical choice here, but there are many other options from delicious salads and sandwiches to steaks and Mexican dishes.

By air

Acapulco’s International airport is about 10 miles away, and the journey by car takes about 20 minutes.

Driving directions

From the airport follow the coastal highway in the direction of Acapulco. After you have passed the Camino Real Hotel, look for the entrance to Las Brisas on your right. You will see the reception area and pink jeeps parked to your right; the hotel is well signed (do not take the right turn into the residential area named Las Brisas).
