In a nutshell:
Refreshingly different from most mega resorts in Cancun, the Presidente is a medium size property that’s quieter than most, and has a gorgeous beach that’s ideal for children.  It’s not an all-inclusive property, so guests can choose to dine at the hotel or explore some of Cancun’s excellent restaurants.

One of the most intimate and tranquil hotels in high-rise Cancun, the Presidente is located on the finest beach in the hotel zone, with gently shelving sands and calm water. This hotel is popular with families and business professionals as it’s a good distance from the wildest nightlife yet close to shopping malls, restaurants and the convention center.

If you’re here on business, you’ll appreciate the spacious rooms with work space and excellent amenities, including coffee maker and minibar, plus some nice little touches such as power sockets at desk level and reading lights.

If you’re on vacation, it’s all about the beach (unbeatable) and the convenient location. Children will love the large swimming pool and the extensive beachfront area, with plenty of room to run around.

Deluxe rooms are great for couples and are spacious, with indulgent bathrooms. The Suites are great for families with small children, as they have a separate bedroom and sitting room and are twice the size of the regular rooms. Our favorite rooms are on the Club level and have large balconies with breathtaking views. The Club level rooms have access to a nicely furnished lounge and business center, where coffee and breakfast is served.

Even if you only have a few days in Cancun, if you stay at the Presidente you’ll see this glitzy resort city at its best.

Rooms

The Presidente’s main guest rooms are housed in a six level building (low rise by Cancun standards), whose rooms either face towards the Caribbean or the lagoon. A recent eight million dollar refurbishment has transformed the accommodations into stylish quarters with indulgent amenities.

If you’re in town for a few days, treat yourself to one of the Club level rooms, with a large balcony where you can take in the sun’s rays and a luxurious bathroom with deep soaking tub. The Club rooms have access to the Club Lounge, where complimentary continental breakfast is served each morning. The lounge also has a business center and space for impromptu meetings.

The property’s 15 suites are located on the 5th floor and also have access to the Club lounge. These units are double the size of the standard rooms, and include a separate bedroom and sitting room with a sofa bed. They’re ideal for a traveling executive or a family.

Deluxe rooms are located on the first to fourth levels of the building. The rooms on the ground floor are the Garden View Deluxe rooms and they don’t have any water views, but they do open out onto a small garden. On the second, third and fourth floors, the rooms face either the Caribbean or the Lagoon. Both offer attractive vistas, even from the second floor (the room shown above is on the second floor).

Bathrooms feature a shower and toilet set behind a full height glass door, and a vanity area that is open to the rest of the room. A screen can be drawn across the vanity area so that you can choose to keep an eye on the view or have more privacy.

The working space in these rooms is nicely arranged so that there are extra power outlets at desk level, and a swivel chair is provided. If you’re here on vacation and bringing the family, an extra bed or a crib can be provided.

The Club rooms are located on the top (sixth) floor, overlooking either the Caribbean (Ocean View) or the lagoon and city (Lagoon view). These are particularly spacious, airy rooms with high ceilings and far reaching views. Ocean View rooms have a large balcony with far reaching views over the Caribbean. These rooms include upgraded amenities such as a Nespresso coffee machine and luxury toiletries.

Club rooms include a wonderful deep soaking tub, as well as a shower and toilet in a separate room. The vanity and dressing area can be shielded from the rest of the room by shutters or left open as you prefer.

These rooms include access to the Club lounge, where a complimentary continental breakfast is served every day as well as hors d’ouevres in the evening. The lounge includes a business center with computers and a terrace overlooking the resort and the sea.

For maximum space, choose one of the fifteen suites located on the fifth floor. These exceptionally large accommodations include a separate bedroom and sitting room. All the suites have ocean views.

Business people will find the extra space and privacy useful for working and for meetings. A large desk is positioned under the window in the sitting room, so that you can enjoy the views whilst working. There’s an extra half-bathroom in the sitting room, and a Nespresso coffee maker. Guests staying in the Suites also have access to the Club lounge on the floor above.

The sofa in the sitting room forms a comfortable double bed, so the Suites are also popular with families. These units have two flatscreen TVs, one in the bedroom and one in the sitting room. The bathrooms are similar to those in the Deluxe rooms.

restaurant

El Caribeno is the Presidente’s beachfront, palapa roofed restaurant, serving seafood, Caribbean specialties and traditional dishes. This restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.

Cana Brava is the more casual restaurant that’s located near to the beach bar, with tables on a terrace that’s caressed by sea breezes. Here you’ll find a charcoal grill and wood fired pizza oven. This is a great place to grab some lunch if you’re relaxing on the beach.

beach

This is one of the finest stretches of beach in Cancun. The sands shelve very gently and the ocean is usually calm. Isla Mujeres, the island that can be seen in the distance, shelters this section of the coastline and the sands don’t seem to shift as much as they do along other parts of the beach.

It’s a perfect beach for families with young children, and there’s plenty of space for everyone to relax under palm trees and palapas as the beach is beautifully wide at this point.

pool

The Presidente has two swimming pools. The main pool – a large, freeform oasis that includes shallow sections, relaxation areas and Jacuzzis, is available for all guests. There’s also an adults-only pool where lap swimming can be enjoyed.
